The main axis of work of this group is the study of the beginnings of the History of Research in Construction, mainly through, among others, the scientific and cultural heritage of the IETcc -both of the activity generated by the institute itself and the created by its staff in its various forms (projects, technical analyzes, publications …), its contribution to the analysis and dissemination of the history of Spanish construction.
Lines of research
- Documentary heritage of engineering and architecture, for the history of science, through the study, understanding conservation and restoration of the Historical and Cultural Heritage, and its contribution to the analysis and dissemination of the history of Spanish construction.
- Study of the work of Spanish architects and engineers through the documentation they have generated. In a special way, it deals with the study of civil engineering of the 20th century, which is not possible without delving into the work of Eduardo Torroja Miret (1899-1961). Not surprisingly, he is the Spanish engineer with the most international projection and founder of the IETcc 85 years ago.
