Cement replacement by supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) is one of the most effective approaches to decrease the environmental impact linked to cement manufacture. Over the last years, ternary cements containing only 50% of clinker Portland and SCMs based on limestone and calcined clays have been developed. Despite of their good properties in terms of mechanical strength and durability, the final implementation of these cements is partially limited by their rheological properties. In the present project, the scientific and technological knowledge of the rheology of these ecoefficient cements will be further increased. Moreover, a systematic study to improve the rheological properties of these cements by using superplasticizers with different molecular structures will be performed. This will be linked to the physical-chemical properties and mineralogy of the raw materials and the nature of the hydration products over time.
