Synthesis and characterization of inorganic materials
– Synthesis of materials through hydrothermal processes. Several reactors with different capacities are available for hydrothermal processes at temperatures up to 200ºC
– Characterization of materials through nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms. An ASAP2010 equipment is available for the measurement of the isotherms and the determination of microporosity, micropore volume, BET specific surface and pore size distribution of the samples.
– Characterization of cement-based materials through the extraction of pore liquid phase. An equipment is available for the extraction of the liquid phase of materials such as cement pastes or mortars.
– Characterization of inorganic materials through different techniques. The group has the capacity to characterize inorganic materials through the analysis of the results obtained from techniques such as X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetry, etc.
