PROJECT SUMMARY

Build Up Skills initiative project, co-funded by the Life Clean Energy Transition programme. Participants: Confederación Nacional de la Construcción (CNC), CCOO del Hábitat, UGT-FICA, Instituto Eduardo Torroja de Ciencias de la Construcción (IETcc-CSIC), Green Building Council España (GBCe), Fundación Estatal para la Formación en el Empleo (Fundae) and Instituto Nacional de las Cualificaciones (Incual), of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training.

The European Commission started the BUILD UP Skills initiative in 2011, with the aim of increasing the number of trained and qualified construction professionals across Europe to carry out the renovation of the building stock to deliver high energy efficiency and the construction of new nearly zero-energy buildings.
The three previous projects of the Build Up Skills initiative have been: Build Up Skills Spain (2011-2013) and Build Up Skills Spain “Construye 2020” (2013-2016), in their 2011 and 2012 calls, respectively; and Construye 2020+ (2018-2021), of the Horizon 2020 programme.

OBJECTIVES

The objective of this project focuses on making a training proposal adjusted to the needs of the companies and the energy requirements of the buildings, through the re-launching of the National Qualification Platform, the elaboration of a study on the current panorama of the construction sector (Status Quo), and the design of a Training Roadmap.

All these results will be elaborated following a methodology of collaborative work with professionals from different fields of construction, analysing the statistics of the sector, developing focus groups and interviews with experts, organising support seminars and dissemination of the project.
