Tribological characterization of materials (friction and wear)

Friction coefficient and wear rate are determined according to ASTM G115-10 2018 for flat samples of solid materials.

Mode A: Determination of friction coefficient and wear rate on a miniature scale (load range 3-30 N) using a pin-on-disk setup with unidirectional sliding.
Mode B: Determination of friction coefficient and wear rate between a tire (Micheline S83) and a flat surface of a material sample (in laboratory) or real pavement (in situ). Load range: 200-800 N. Type of the motion: sliding, rolling, sliding and rolling. Rotation velocity: 0-300 rpm. Linear velocity: 0-200 mm/s. Maximum displacement: 300 mm.
