Eduardo Torroja Institute for Construction Science (IETcc) is an institute of the CSIC that deals with scientific and technological research in a traditionally very masculinized field, such as Engineering and Construction; but in spite of this it has always had a historical concern for gender equality in its research and in the personnel that carry it out. And it is from this perspective that the IETcc works every day to promote the gender perspective as a transversal category in all aspects of the institution’s operation and to advance in the promotion of measures aimed at eliminating the barriers that women encounter in the exercise of their profession.

In the 2019 call for applications for the CSIC Gender Equality Distinction, the IETcc received one of the runner-up prizes..
